Life is not so lucky, but a moment is immortal.
Take comfort in the fact that we are all connected.
From the pipes under these structures,
through the ways of sentence structures, one to another,
from the blessed thought that we all have a mother.
The ocean is your sister; water to water.
Life dwells down in you, and your purpose is endless.
You can go on for miles and miles,
or assume the position of staying in one place.
You can do this you see,
because you are amazing; a necessity of the Earth.
You are beautiful.

Make use of all four limbs and your twenty bendable extensions.
They can take you as far as the sea,
as far as the eye can see.
Because all technology, is a spawn of these,
and what a daunting thought that is,
to know that you really are as big as the ocean:
your sister; water to water.
You can suck away the life of a man, or help hold up another,
and what a blessed thought it is
to know we have a mother.

Author's Comments

I need to stop writing about the ocean/sea/bodies of water.
For someone who's never even been around the ocean very much, I seem to have some sort of growing fascination with it.

One of my last Writing 12 projects.

I remember I had a time when everything I wrote had something to do with water. Maybe it's a phase every writer has to go through? :D

I think it's kind of comforting to know I'm not the only one. It's just so beautiful and easy to throw into analogies. Hah.

Oh I love this poem so much. The use of repetition strengthens the ideas and overall it is just such a beautiful piece. Well done.

Goodness, thank-you Amanda.
I'm glad you like it.
Also, I have to say this, I love your poetry. You should think about posting some of it. I love how effectively you use imagery. It makes me giddy. :D

This is one of the rare times that the word 'beautiful,' in my mind, is used right.
thank you.
